IPMAN Imo State Unit praises Civil Defense, Urged Road Rehabilitation.

The Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN) lauded the Nigerian Securities and Civilian Defense Corps yesterday after a brief annual general meeting held at Great wood Hotels Portharcourt Road, Owerri. The Independent Marketers Owerri Unit recognized the need to maintain cordial relation with the Nigerian Police, especially with the new police commissioner posted to Imo State.
Briefing newsmen after a meeting with members of the association Owerri unit, the IPMAN chairman, Sir Chidiebere Okorafor, said that marketers have continued to sell petrol at the government approved pump price despite numerous challenges faced by the association and urged government to expedient action towards ensuring the rehabilitation of roads to easy trucking and fair distribution of petroleum products.
He insisted that it would be unfair on the marketers if they sell at government’s approved price of 145 Naira when they spend huge cost transporting petroleum products due to inaccessible road network.
The oil dealers emphasized on the need to increase the association’s monthly dues and propose to penalize members who failed to attend monthly meetings.
The meeting adopted a proposal to look into the IPMAN constitution to enable members agree on a certain amount to be paid as monthly dues.
